Start making your utility payments with your BBVA Compass Check Card and receive 5% cash back – up to $50 each month – May 18th thru June 30th. You can get cash back on just about all your utilities, including electric, gas, water, and sewer. (Upto $100 cash back, $50 in May 2009 and $50 in June 2009)
When paying, use your BBVA Compass Check Card online at your provider’s website, on the phone or in person. Also, many utilities allow you to list your check card number on the bill and mail it in. When you use your Check Card, always choose “CREDIT” instead of “DEBIT” and don’t use your PIN to qualify for the 5% rebate. If asked for a PIN, just press “cancel” or tell the cashier it”s “credit” not “debit.
BBVA Compass checking accounts opened prior to May 18, 2009 can receive 5% cash back on qualifying Check Card payments to utility companies between May 18, 2009 and June 30, 2009 which did not receive a Check Card payment during the month of April 2009
