Discover Card – 5% CashBack Bonus on Department Stores and Clothing Stores
Most people assume Discover Card earns 1% Cashback bonus for all of its purchases. If you read the fine prints, the first $3,000 in purchases only earn .25% cash back bonus. Only after $3,000 do you start to earn 1% of purchases.
Each quarter, Discover Card, offers 5% Cashback Bonus on selected categories. For the 2nd Quarter (April 2009 – June 2009), you get 5% Cashback bonus for Home Improvement Stores, Department Stores and Clothing Stores up to $400 in purchases.
So if you have Discover Card and want to earn 5% Cash Back, make sure to FIRST signed up Discover Card for the 5% offer (it is not defaulted, you have to call Discover or enroll online).

Great advice! Thanks for posting this. It just goes to show how much people need to read the fine print. Most people never do still and only skim over the basics in bold.
