Reminder: 2013 First Quarter 5% Cash Back Offers

A few days ago, we posted about 2013’s first quarter 5% cash back offers from Chase, Citi, and Discover. Back then, only registration for Discover’s Cashback offer was opened. As of now, registration is open for all 3 cards, so hurry up and register! The first quarter runs from January 1, 2013-March 31, 2013.

As a reminder, here are the 5% cashback categories for each card:

  • Chase Freedom: Gas stations, Drugstores, and Starbucks stores. Up to $75 cash back ($1,500 in purchases). Sign up begins December 15th.
  • Citi Dividend: Zappos.com*, Fitness clubs, Drugstores. Up to $300 cash back ($6,000 in purchases) per calendar year. Sign up not yet open.
  • Discover Card: Restaurants and Movies. Up to $75 cash back ($1,500 in purchases). Registration is currently open.

2013 First Quarter 5% Cash Back Offers

We hope you’re saving tons of money using your 5% cash back cards to do your holiday season. Here’s a friendly reminder that the first quarter of 2013 is right around the corner. Registration has already opened up for some cards and will open up within the next few days for the rest.

Here’s a breakdown of the categories being offered:

  • Discover Card: 5% Cashback Bonus on department stores & online holiday shopping. Up to $75 cash back ($1,500 in purchases)
  • Chase Freedom: 5% cash back on hotel, airline, Best Buy, and Kohl’s purchases. Up to $75 cash back ($1,500 in purchases)

Citi Dividend Card – 5% Cash Back

Citi Dividend cardholders can now begin to register to earn 5% cash back from October 1st-December 31st. Cash back valid on purchases made at Macy’s, electronic stores, and toy stores. To enroll, you must log onto your online account and click on the 5% cash back offer or dial 1-800-231-0891.

 

Non Citi Dividend cardholders can apply for one. Benefits include:

  • $150 cash back after $500 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening
  • No annual fee
  • 0% Intro APR on purchases & balance transfers for 12 months (12.99%-22.99% thereafter)
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases

Citi Dividend also offers an option for college students who want to do more than build their credit. Benefits include:

  • No annual fee
  • No cosigner required
  • 0% Intro APR on purchases for 7 months (12.99%-20.99% thereafter)
  • 5% cash back on gas stations, supermarkets, drugstores, and utilities for 6 months
  • At least 2% cash back in popular rotating categories (restaurants, apparel, etc.)
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • Average of 5% additional cash back at over 400 leading retailers through the Citi Bonus Cash Center
  • Free credit education tips & tools to help with money management
  • $0 liability on unauthorized purchases
