AOR or App-O-Rama refers to a credit card trick or strategy that involves completing multiple credit card applications or other banking activities that involve hard credit pul, usually within few hours. The logic behind this strategy is that your credit score or FICO score isn’t affected because you opened multiple credit cards or done multiple balance transfers.
For Example, if you have excellent credit score (over 750+), you can open 5-10 NEW credit card applications and do multiple 0% APR balance transfers on the same day. You can potentially get over $100,000 in new credit limit or balance transfer money. On the other hand, if you didn’t implement the AOR strategy, every subsquent credit card application will be harder to get approved or qualify for high credit limit.
It was extremely popular during 2006/2007 when there were abundant 0% APR Credit Card Transfer Offers with maximum balance transfer fee of $60/75/$100. Back then Online Savings Rate was in the high 4% to 5% APY. Now most 0% APR Credit Card Balance Transfer carries a 3% or 4% fee on your balance transfer. Every $10,000 in balance transfer will cost you $300 to $400.
