The following table are the bank holidays in the US for 2012.  Most major banks and local banks follow the Federal public holidays.  There are some exceptions like Commerce Bank/TD Bank where they are open for customers’ convenience.

For those who file tax extension, Form 4868, your 2008 tax return is due on October 15, 2009.  You can still e-file the tax return until October 15, 2009.  After that date, all returns must be paper filed.
